Authorities have confirmed that the body discovered floating in the Hulhumale’ lagoon yesterday afternoon was that of a fisherman employed on a yellowfin tuna fishing vessel.
The deceased has been identified as Ibrahim Jinah Mohamed, 36, from Coconut Villa in Meemu Atoll Maduvvari. Following the necessary investigative examinations, police have released the body to his family.
The funeral took place last night at the Hulhumale’ Cemetery.
