Air India has expanded its connectivity to the Maldives by introducing daily direct flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Malé. This new service aims to provide greater convenience for both tourists and residents traveling between the two destinations.
The daily flight from Delhi departs Indira Gandhi International Airport at 10:15 AM IST, reaching Velana International Airport in Malé at 1:50 PM MVT. The return flight from Malé leaves at 2:50 PM MVT, landing in Delhi at 7:25 PM IST.
Similarly, flights from Mumbai depart Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 9:30 AM IST and arrive in Malé at 11:50 AM MVT. The return leg departs Malé at 12:50 PM MVT, reaching Mumbai at 4:05 PM IST.
India remains one of the Maldives’ largest tourism markets, with over 101,000 Indian tourists visiting the island nation as of October last year. Additionally, the Maldives has strong ties with India for essential services, as many Maldivians travel to Delhi and Mumbai for medical treatment.
This new daily connection strengthens the bond between the two countries, supporting both leisure travel and critical services, while enhancing Air India’s role in regional connectivity.
