More than 2,000 Maldivian students have been officially registered in the Higher Education database as studying abroad, the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour, and Skill Development announced on Monday.
As of now, a total of 2,116 students are listed, including 915 male students and 1,201 female students.
The registry, launched in April this year, records local students pursuing education overseas through various programs, such as bilateral scholarships, government scholarships, and government-funded loans.
According to the Ministry, the primary objective of this initiative is to streamline the process of monitoring and managing the activities of students studying abroad, ensuring better oversight and support.
