Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) is set to host the “Bingaa Festival,” a special event for children, this Friday.
The festival will include exciting sports activities and educational sessions designed to introduce children to various fields. Key highlights of the event are a financial literacy class, a Q&A session with “Auntie Aisha,” and a unique presentation on sea turtles and tortoises in partnership with Atoll Marine Conservation.
The Atoll Marine Conservation Center, managed by the Laamu Atoll Naifaru Juvenile group, focuses on protecting turtle and tortoise populations in the region.
Beyond educational activities, the festival will offer fun attractions like a jumping castle and a variety of food stalls.
The event is scheduled to take place at Kalaafaanu School from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday.
During the festival, MIB will share information about its Bingaa Kids account. Children interested in opening an account can apply for a Bingaa debit card and internet banking services. Existing Bingaa account holders will also have access to support during the event.
The Bingaa account package includes three types of accounts:
- Transactional Account: Helps children manage pocket money provided by parents.
- Savings Account: Encourages short-term savings habits.
- Investment Account: Supports long-term savings goals.
These accounts were designed by MIB to help children develop financial responsibility and cultivate a habit of saving for their future.
