Dr. Mohamed Shafeeq, the former Finance Minister, has been named a Board Member of the Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC). His appointment, dated December 2, is confirmed on the websites of both the Privatization and Corporatization Board and HDFC.
Dr. Shafeeq previously served as HDFC’s Chief Financial Officer from 2021 to 2023 and has held other senior roles within the corporation. His recent resignation as Finance Minister on September 30 followed cabinet changes introduced by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
