Next year, Addu City will host a tourism symposium focused on exploring tourism and job opportunities in the region. During the launch of Addu’s tourism brand at Canareef Islands Resort, Faisal emphasized the importance of expanding tourism development and enhancing Addu’s brand and connectivity.
Faisal highlighted that increasing public awareness of tourism’s potential and introducing the younger generation to these opportunities is essential. Tour operators, airlines, and online booking platforms from India and China are expected to participate, facilitating crucial networking for Addu’s tourism industry.
“It would be challenging without collaborative efforts like these,” Faisal stated, expressing confidence that the symposium will be impactful with dedicated networking sessions.
Currently, Addu offers 1,100 beds, and Casa Holdings, a stakeholder in Gan International Airport, is interested in expanding accommodations. Plans are in place to develop a 130-bed tourist hotel in Gan, with the government providing full support to make it happen.
