Air Arabia launches scheduled flights to Maldives

Air Arabia, the budget airline of the Middle East and North Africa, has launched scheduled flights to Maldives.

The airline’s first flight landed at Vellana International Airport in Maldives yesterday morning. A water salute was given to welcome the airline.

Air Arabia has decided to operate a flight to Maldives every day. The Airbus A320 flight from the UAE will land at 8:00 am daily. The flight from Maldives will start at 2:20 pm.

Air Arabia CEO Adhil Al Ali said the launch of flights to Maldives is an opportunity for the airline to further expand its services. Cheap flights from the region to Maldives have been made available, he said.

MACL CEO Ibrahim Sharif Mohammed, who operates Vellana International Airport, said the flights of Air Arabia have created opportunities to expand the Middle East market. With that, tourists from the area will also increase, he said.

Air Arabia’s fleet consists of 77 A320s and A321s. The airline is expanding to more destinations.
