Maldives’ Minister of Defense, Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, is set to visit India from January 7 to January 8. This marks Minister Ghassan’s first official visit to India since assuming office.
The visit will focus on security-related discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
This follows a recent trip to India by Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, who visited last week for a three-day official engagement. During his visit, Dr. Khaleel met with India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and signed an agreement to implement the second phase of the High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP) in the Maldives.
Minister Ghassan’s visit underscores the continued efforts to enhance collaboration between the Maldives and India in key areas such as defense and development.
