Maldives Police Partners with 5 Organizations for Cyber Expo 2024

The Maldives Police Service has teamed up with five prominent organizations to host Cyber Expo 2024, an event designed to promote cybersecurity awareness and foster a safer digital environment.

The partnership was formalized during a signing ceremony at the Iskandar Building, with Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau representing the police. The event’s collaborators include:

  • Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), represented by Deputy COO Hussain Naufal
  • Maldives Islamic Bank, represented by Deputy CEO Ahmed Riza
  • Public Service Media (PSM), represented by Managing Director Mohamed Saeed
  • Dhiraagu, represented by Managing Director Ismail Rasheed
  • Parkside, represented by Owner Ali Thaufeeg

Scheduled for December 10–12 at Hulhumalé Central Park, Cyber Expo 2024 will bring together government bodies, private companies, and technical experts.

The event aims to educate the public about cybersecurity and foster collaboration to tackle the growing threat of cybercrime. The Police emphasized the rising prevalence of such crimes and highlighted their efforts to address them, including a proposed amendment to the Maldives Penal Code to strengthen laws against cyber offenses.

By prioritizing public engagement and cross-sector partnerships, Cyber Expo 2024 is set to play a pivotal role in creating a more secure and resilient digital ecosystem in the Maldives.
