Maldivian Airlines Resumes Flights to Kooddoo Following Runway Repairs

Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has resumed flights to Kooddoo Airport today after completing necessary runway repairs. Flights to Kooddoo were halted on October 11 after damage to the runway forced the grounding of two Maldivian aircraft.

Following the renovation, Maldivian has reinstated two weekly flights to Kooddoo, with plans to increase frequency soon. “Yes, we’ve resumed flights now, but there are currently only two weekly flights. Regular schedules will start very soon,” a Maldivian official confirmed.

The Kooddoo Airport, initially developed in 2011 under a 50-year resort development contract granted by the government to Bonavecha Maldives, is operated and managed by KHA Construction—a partnership between Singapore-based Keon Hong Construction and Allison Construction Company—for a 25-year term.
