A Male’ resident, Mohamed Shafeeq, has been arrested for allegedly threatening to stab his mother and younger sibling if they refused to give him money.
During the investigation, police discovered two knives in Shafeeq’s room. The court has ordered his remand for seven days, citing concerns that he poses a danger to society.
Incidents involving drug-related violence, including theft of money and valuables from family members, are commonly reported to authorities. Some offenders have also faced convictions for domestic violence against their parents.
