Minister of Higher Education, Labour, and Skills Development Dr. Mariyam Mariya has completed her visit to Paris, France. She embarked on this trip on October 15 to participate in the 6th Creativity in Education Summit, which took place from October 17 to 18.
The summit was organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Global Creative Thinking Institute. It brought together educational experts and officials from around the world. The sessions primarily focused on ways to enhance innovation in education and provided insights into the latest research and developments in adaptive teaching within the changing educational landscape.
Following her participation in the summit, Minister Dr. Mariya met with Professor Asha Kanwar, Chair of UNESCO’s Institute for Information Technologies (UNESCO-IITE), and Tao Zhan, the Director of UNESCO IITE. They discussed the crucial role of creativity in fostering global educational innovation. Additionally, she met with Seychelles’ Minister of Education, Justin Valentin, to discuss policies and how educational institutions in both countries involve teachers, students, and communities in addressing sustainability and climate change.
