Minister of Islamic Affairs, Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, has confirmed that the 50 tonnes of dates donated by Saudi Arabia will be distributed ahead of next year’s Ramadan.
In a post on X, Minister Shaheem announced that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs had received the generous donation and is working to ensure its timely distribution for the holy month.
Some of the dates will be provided to organizations hosting iftar events in mosques, offering essential support to the local Muslim community during Ramadan.
