The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has issued a Yellow Alert for areas from Baa Atoll to Laamu Atoll, citing strong winds and rough seas.
The alert will remain in effect until 6:30 PM today. The MET Office forecasts heavy rain, thunderstorms, and wind gusts reaching speeds of up to 45 miles per hour, along with rough sea conditions.
Previously, the MET Office warned that these adverse weather conditions are expected to continue through Sunday.
With many people traveling to islands during the ongoing school holidays, the MET Office advises checking the latest weather updates before making travel plans.
