Male’, Maldives – Barceló Nasandhura Male’, the latest luxury destination in the Maldives, is set to open in Q1 2025. Located on the site of the former Nasandhura Palace Hotel, it will be the largest hotel in the capital, boasting 136 elegantly designed rooms, including 95 with breathtaking ocean views, and 116 premium serviced apartments. The hotel aims to offer a perfect mix of sophistication, comfort, and convenience in the vibrant heart of Male’.
Operated by the prestigious Barceló Hotel Group, a leading Spanish hotel chain, this launch marks a significant milestone in the brand’s expansion in the Maldives and beyond. The Barceló group recently unveiled the Barceló Whale Lagoon Maldives in South Ari Atoll in August 2024, further strengthening its presence in the region. Beyond the Maldives, Barceló manages numerous high-profile hotels across the UAE, Thailand, and several European countries.
A World-Class Destination
Barceló Nasandhura Male’ will feature an array of upscale amenities, including four fine-dining outlets, a rooftop shisha lounge, an oceanfront pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a luxurious spa. With 1,034 square meters of versatile MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities, it is also poised to become a prime venue for corporate events and social gatherings.
Initially, some of the serviced apartments were planned for residential use. However, these will now be available as part of the hotel’s daily rental offerings, providing guests with greater flexibility and more accommodation options. Although the opening was initially scheduled for December 1, 2024, minor construction delays have shifted the date to early 2025. The Barceló team is dedicated to ensuring the property is ready to welcome guests in Q1 2025.
