At the International Zakat Conference, Shaheem shared how public awareness efforts and smart upgrades to the system, like funding education for orphans, have made a huge difference.
Thanks to changes made back in 2008 and campaigns to spread the word, people’s attitudes have shifted big time, leading to this massive boost.
Shaheem also hinted at more room for improvement, saying that tweaking the laws could make the zakat system even better.
