Maldivian Opens Bookings for Flights to China

Maldivian has started accepting bookings for flights to China on its first wide-body aircraft, the Airbus A330.

Return tickets to Chengdu, the airline’s first destination in China, are priced at USD 688 (MVR 10,610). The inaugural flight to Chengdu is scheduled for January 22.

Tickets for flights to Beijing are priced at USD 788 (MVR 12,151), while return tickets to Shanghai cost USD 777 (MVR 11,981). Flights to Beijing will commence on January 24, followed by Shanghai on January 27.

Passengers will be entitled to a generous baggage allowance of 40 kg.

The Airbus A330, which arrived in the Maldives last week, can accommodate 260 passengers and offers business, premium economy, and economy class seating. The aircraft also has a cargo capacity of 10 tonnes.

With this addition, Maldivian’s fleet now consists of 25 aircraft, serving 29 destinations. In 2024, the airline operated 50,000 flights and carried 1 million passengers.
