MNU Launches First Art Exhibition ‘Redhan’ at National Art Gallery

The Maldives National University (MNU) unveiled its inaugural art exhibition, Redhan, on Thursday at the National Art Gallery, showcasing the creative works of the university’s visual arts students.

According to MNU, this is the first exhibition of its kind to feature student artwork and aims to inspire emerging artists by fostering an environment for learning and growth. The exhibition also highlights opportunities available in the field of visual arts.

Redhan is open to the public until Sunday, with extended hours from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday, except during prayer times.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Higher Education Minister Dr. Mariyam Mariya explained that the term Redhan embodies the essence of art, symbolizing its power to illuminate life, even in its darkest moments. She described art as a universal language that connects people, evokes emotions, and facilitates the exchange of societal ideas.
